Beware of QuickBooks Phishing Attempts

I ran across a great blog post titled QuickBooks Phishing Warning. According to the post (posted on 2/12/2012) there are fake emails being sent out pretending to be related to Intuit / QuickBooks with the intent to steal your personal information.

These email are coming from various official sounding address such as: update@quickbooks.com, security@quickbooks.com, antifraud@quickbooks.com, tools@quickbooks.com, update@intuit.com, tools@intuit.com and security@intuit.com

If you receive emails from any of the above addresses, you will need to double check all the links to ensure the request is legitimate.

If you opened any links from the emails listed about, I suggest you take action to figure out what is needed to protect yourself. If you ever have questions whether an email is legitimate or not, you can simply call Intuit to find out.
